子供の頃に観たスターウォーズに魅了され、宇宙開発を志す。ジョージア工科大学で修士号（航空宇宙工学）を取得。大学院時代は次世代航空宇宙システムの概念設計に携わる。外資系経営コンサルティングファーム勤務を経て2010年より史上初の民間月面探査レース「Google Lunar XPRIZE」に参加する日本チーム「HAKUTO」を率いた。同時に、運営母体の組織を株式会社ispaceに変更する。現在は史上初の民間月面探査プログラム「HAKUTO-R」を主導しながら月面輸送を主とした民間宇宙ビジネスを推進中。宇宙資源を利用可能にすることで、人類が宇宙に生活圏を築き、地球と月の間に持続可能なエコシステムの構築を目指し挑戦を続けている。

東京大学文学部社会心理学専修課程卒業後、メリルリンチ日本証券（当時）にて主に自動車セクター・石油セクターを担当し、クライアントの資金調達・IPO・M&A・IR等のアドバイザリ業務を担当。本邦企業のトップ経営層と関わる中で産業の転換期を感じ、100年に一度の大変革に身を置くべく2017年にispaceに参画。同年、宇宙分野のSeriesAとして世界過去最高額となる103.5億円の調達を実施。2019年より取締役CFOとして財務経理をはじめとする会社のコーポレート機能作りを主導し、2023年には本邦初となる宇宙企業による東京証券取引所への上場を実現。振り返れば小学生の頃の夢が宇宙飛行士であり、人生の不思議な巡り合わせを感じる。

東北大学で宇宙地球物理学専攻を修了。2009年からJAXAでソフトウェア・シミュレーションエンジニアとして勤務。宇宙機のソフトウェア独立検証、ソフトウェアアーキテクチャ研究、誘導制御シミュレーション研究及びシステム安全設計研究に従事。2015年からMITに留学し、System Design and Management Programを修了。2016年からは、JAXAにおいて複合システム最適化研究に従事。2017年から宇宙ステーション補給機「こうのとり」の後継機プロジェクト（HTV-X）に参加し、主に誘導制御及びNASAインタフェース調整に従事。2018年に宇宙分野での新たな挑戦を求めてispaceへ転職。ランダーのシステムグループマネージャー兼プロジェクトマネージャー補佐などを経て2022年6月にCTO就任。

Following a 37 year career at Mitsubishi Corporation, (One of Japan’s biggest trading and investment companies at the time) where he spent 19 years overseas (Saudi Arabia, Norway, UK twice, Canada and Singapore), mainly engaged in the steel pipe and energy industries, Atsushi Saiki joined ispace in September 2020 to support global sales generation before being appointed as Chief Revenue Officer in December 2021. He joined ispace attracted by the notion of unlimited potential and ambitious challenges. In his position, he oversees sales, marketing and communications, and the company’s partnership program. After spending his teenage life attending high school in the United States, Atsushi studied International Economics at Hitotsubashi University where he was also captain of the varsity ice hockey team. He spends his free time on the golf course, cheering on Chelsea F.C, and enjoying opera, ballet, museums, and visiting wineries.

22年間勤めた株式会社リクルートではキャリアの大半を人事として過ごし、制度設計を中心とした人事全般業務、ならびにホールディングス経営や海外事業の推進に携わる。オランダ駐在時に多様な人材をまとめるヨーロッパ型リーダーシップと組織文化のすばらしさに触れ、人事を自らのライフワークにしようと決心。その後のZホールディングス株式会社においても、人事担当執行役員として、人材育成、グループ組織再編などを担う。「人」を通じてより明るい未来を作りたいという個人的な想いを「宇宙」というフィールドで実現すべく、2023年10月にCPOとしてispaceに入社。東京大学船舶海洋工学科卒。

Ron Garan is former CEO of ispace-U.S. and a former NASA astronaut, serial entrepreneur, humanitarian, and highly decorated combat fighter pilot. Prior to joining ispace – U.S., Ron served in various leadership positions including EVP of Operations and Co-President in the commercial spaceflight company, World View. Ron racked up 178 days in space and more than 71 million miles in 2,842 orbits between tours on the US Space Shuttle, Russian Soyuz spacecraft, and the International Space Station. During his time in space, Ron conducted four spacewalks in support of ISS construction and maintenance. Prior to those space journeys, he lived and conducted research on the bottom of the ocean in the world’s only undersea research lab, Aquarius.

Elizabeth has led programs, supply chain, business development, communications, government affairs, and business transformation initiatives for the U.S. entity. Elizabeth has held various leadership roles in the aerospace sector, from new product introduction to program management and strategic planning in advanced material science and environmental sciences. Prior to joining ispace – U.S., Elizabeth most recently served as the Chief of Staff – Vice President of Business Operations for World View, an Aerospace startup company pioneering un-crewed high altitude Stratospheric flight systems for a myriad of remote sensing applications. She holds a master’s in engineering (MEng) from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Ricardo Woodbury is a seasoned finance professional overseeing the Finance, Accounting, and Information Technology functions for ispace – U.S. He has built a distinguished career navigating complex business environments, taking on progressively senior roles in industrial manufacturing, specialty chemicals, and aerospace. Ricardo’s experience spans government contracting, joint venture (JV) formation, financial management, and strategic operations. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Western Michigan University and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Katie Lucas brings over 15 years of leadership and management experience, specializing in building foundational HR systems, scaling teams, and refining processes to support organizational growth. She is passionate about aligning people strategies with business goals to create workplaces where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Originally from Georgia and now based in Denver, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and has a lifelong love of books.

Ananda has built and led world-class legal teams at both emerging growth and public companies in the U.S., Asia, and Europe, previously serving as General Counsel of space data and analytics company Spire Global (NYSE:SPIR), Senior Corporate Counsel, APAC at Amazon, and as a partner in the White Collar Investigations practice at Paul Hastings LLPs’ Shanghai office. A lifelong student of Japan, Ms. Martin majored in Japanese language at Washington University in St. Louis and holds an MA in Japanese history from Columbia University. She received her JD from Harvard Law School and is an alum of the Japan America Student Conference, a US-Japan Leadership Program Fellow, and a Japan Fulbright Fellow.
